In the wake of releasing data about more than 800 reported missing persons in Delhi during early January, the Delhi Police has reassured citizens, indicating the figures represent a decrease compared to past years. The report included 509 females and 298 males among the missing, with minors comprising a significant portion.
The police emphasized an unwavering commitment to a transparent system for reporting and investigating missing individuals. They clarified that a report can be filed both offline and through digital platforms. Rigorous protocols are observed, particularly when children are involved, to rapidly address and resolve cases.
Moreover, there is currently no evidence of organized criminal networks in these cases. The police call upon the public to stay calm, dismiss rumors, and contribute accurate information to assist in ongoing investigations, warning against the spread of misinformation.
