Ukraine's Bold January Strikes on Russian Missile Site
In January, Ukraine executed successful strikes on a Russian missile launch site, damaging several buildings. The attacks targeted facilities used for missile preparations, causing significant damage and evacuations. Ukraine refuted Russia's claims of retaliating against a Ukrainian drone strike, using home-developed Flamingo missiles in their operation.
The Ukrainian military claims a successful operation in January resulted in multiple strikes on a Russian missile launch facility, focusing on the Kapustin Yar test range near the Caspian Sea.
According to the General Staff, damage to buildings varied, with significant harm to one hangar, prompting the evacuation of some personnel. The attack, targeting hangar-type buildings designed for pre-launch missile preparations, was communicated via the Telegram messaging app.
Despite Russia's assertion of a retaliatory launch of a hypersonic Oreshnik missile, Ukraine and Western nations dismissed the claim. Instead, Ukraine emphasized its use of long-range Flamingo missiles. Reuters has yet to verify these statements independently.
