MSME Ministry Boosts Kashmir’s Industrial Ecosystem with National Vendor Programme

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) conducted a pivotal National Vendor Development Programme in Jammu and Kashmir, aimed at fortifying the region's industrial and entrepreneurial framework. The event, held in Srinagar, provided a collaborative platform for local businesses to engage directly with representatives from major public sector undertakings.

During the two-day programme, participants discussed key aspects of procurement policies and explored opportunities for local enterprises to integrate into national supply chains. The initiative emphasized the mandatory requirement for central public units to procure 25 percent of goods from MSMEs, aiming to bolster local manufacturing and self-reliance.

Entrepreneurs received guidance on the Government e-Marketplace portal, underscoring its importance in facilitating transparent and inclusive government procurement. The programme highlighted the strategic role of local industries in major infrastructure projects, advocating for continual support to sustain economic growth in the Valley.
