The Punjab government's anti-drone system successfully intercepted nearly four kilograms of heroin transported by a Pakistani drone near the Tarn Taran district border, officials reported on Wednesday. The drone was detected by 'Baaz Akh', an advanced anti-drone system designed to neutralise such cross-border threats.
Upon detection, swift collaborative efforts between Punjab police and the Border Security Force led to a targeted combing operation. This resulted in the successful neutralisation of the drone, which was subsequently recovered from nearby agricultural fields.
The capture exposed the usage of advanced technology to facilitate cross-border smuggling. Authorities seized a DJI Matrice drone used by the traffickers, leading to ongoing investigations to identify international handlers and dismantle the smuggling network.
