A 19-year-old law student from Navi Mumbai, Shriya Pati, allegedly took her own life at Lonavala hill station in Maharashtra, police confirmed on Wednesday.

Pati, a student at a private college in Kalyan, embarked on a solo trip on January 30, intending to return the same day. However, she was last seen at Tiger Point, a tourist spot, where she purportedly jumped into the gorge.

Her belongings were discovered by a local vendor, Vijay Bhalerao, who alerted her family. A police search had unveiled her body 300 feet down the gorge, with an investigation being ongoing to determine the exact cause.
