The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has called upon the Andhra Pradesh government to take decisive measures against senior officers of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) following serious allegations of supplying adulterated ghee for the iconic Tirupati laddus.

According to the Special Investigation Team (SIT), senior officials, including O Balaji, AV Dharma Reddy, and Anil Kumar Singhal, were complicit in endorsing tender conditions without due diligence, resulting in compromised quality standards.

The SIT noted that these lapses benefited certain private dairies, allowing adulterated ghee to enter the supply chain between 2020 and 2023. A recent administrative reshuffle saw Singhal transferred from his executive role at TTD.
