The Indian government is set to revolutionize complaint management within the cooperative sector with a new online portal spearheaded by Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. In a recent statement, Shah revealed plans to develop this portal for the 'Cooperative Ombudsman' to ensure transparent, efficient, and technology-driven solutions.
The development follows the appointment of the Cooperative Ombudsman on March 5, 2024, aiming to streamline handling complaints by members of Multi State Cooperative Societies. These complaints often revolve around issues like deposits, equitable benefits, or other individual rights.
Shah highlighted the significance of the Multi State Cooperative Society Rules, 2002, which lay out a straightforward procedure for lodging complaints and appeals. This initiative seeks to provide members with continuous guidance on effectively navigating the new system.
