A high-stakes drama unfolded in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan on Wednesday when a 12-year-old girl made a bold move by climbing an electricity pole. Her daring act was a protest against the alleged inaction of authorities concerning her missing 17-year-old sister.
Local officials swiftly cut off the electricity supply to prevent any mishap, while police officers rushed to the scene hoping to resolve the tense situation. The young protestor stayed perched atop the pole for nearly two hours, even draping a noose around her neck at one point.
Her perilous demonstration eventually ended in the evening when both police and villagers managed to coax her down. According to the girl's father, the family has been living in distress ever since his elder daughter disappeared in September 2024, with no meaningful progress made in the investigation. Law enforcement assured the family that their grievances would be addressed promptly.
