Diplomatic Dinner: APEC Leaders to Discuss Trade and Peace

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung is set to engage in pivotal discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump, focusing on trade, investment, and peace on the Korean peninsula. The talks will take place during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum on Wednesday, according to Lee's office.

Lee aims to harness Trump's visit to bolster tangible cooperation between South Korea and other nations. In conjunction with the forum, South Korea will host a dinner for Trump and other APEC leaders, such as those from Vietnam, Australia, and Canada, to enhance regional and economic ties in the Indo-Pacific area.

During the dinner, Lee plans to highlight South Korea's role in promoting regional cooperation among emerging markets and leading countries, with a focus on technology. As a gesture of goodwill, he will present Trump a mockup of a golden crown inspired by the Silla dynasty, symbolizing Korea's historic era of peace.
