Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has confirmed that Odisha narrowly avoided significant damage from the cyclonic storm Montha, which struck the Andhra Pradesh coast. Majhi conducted a review session at the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) control room, where he stated there were minimal reports of damage. Instead of the anticipated devastation, the state experienced less severe impacts thanks to preemptive efforts. He expressed relief and gratitude for the outcome.
Assessments highlighted Gajapati and Ganjam districts receiving less rainfall than expected, with evacuated residents safely housed.
