On Tuesday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reaffirmed the state's unwavering commitment to combatting corruption, vowing that the Vigilance Department will act firmly against any corrupt government official. Majhi highlighted the state's adoption of a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, marking a significant shift from previous administrations.
Speaking at a state-level event commemorating Vigilance Awareness Week, Majhi stressed that corruption hinders societal progress and development. Under the BJP government, Odisha has actively pursued senior officials, not just minor offenders, changing the historical pattern of vigilance operations.
Statistics underscore the government's dedication, with 302 criminal cases filed against 519 individuals, including senior officers, since the BJP took over. Majhi called for officials to enhance preventive measures across departments, with the administration pledging full support to bolster the Vigilance Department's capabilities in rooting out corruption.
