Gurugram Court Sentences Duo for Taxi Driver Robbery

A Gurugram court has handed down a seven-year prison sentence to two individuals convicted of robbing a taxi driver. The District and Sessions Judge, Vani Gopal Sharma, pronounced the sentence, which also includes a fine of Rs 35,000 for each convict.
The incident dates back to December 15, 2023, when the victim alleged that three youths in Jaikampura colony stopped him as he went to pick up staff. The robbers, armed with a gun, took his phone, money, and other valuables, holding him hostage. A case was filed on December 17.
Following comprehensive investigations, police arrested Ashank 'Sanki' from Ambedkar Nagar and Vicky Giri from new Palam colony. They were taken into custody and presented in court. The court rendered the sentence based on the chargesheet, which included substantial evidence from the authorities.
