A Sudanese national, Deng Chol Majek, has been convicted of the brutal murder of a 27-year-old woman, Rhiannon Whyte, who worked at a hotel for asylum seekers in central England. British prosecutors confirmed the conviction on Friday.
Majek, aged 19, followed Whyte to a railway station after her shift last October, attacking her with a screwdriver and inflicting 23 stab wounds to her head, chest, and arm. Onlookers reported seeing Majek later celebrating his actions, captured on footage laughing and dancing.
