High School Clash in Aligarh: Students Face Attempted Murder Charges

In an alarming incident at City High School, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), two students have been apprehended for allegedly assaulting a fellow classmate, Prashant Kumar. The altercation resulted in Kumar sustaining serious injuries after he was hit on the back of his head with a blunt object. The altercation followed a heated argument over a previous dispute among classmates.

The local police department has registered charges of 'attempt to murder' against four students involved in the attack. While two suspects are currently in custody, efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining two. The confrontation occurred at Puraani Chungi crossing, where Kumar had met his peers to resolve the ongoing dispute.

AMU officials, including Proctor Mohammad Waseem Ali, have stated that the school is deeply concerned about the incident and committed to addressing the matter stringently. Although there were initial speculations about a communal motive, officials dismissed these as unfounded. The police, led by Circle Officer Sarvan Singh, continue to investigate all potential motives behind the attack.
