Spain's High Court has launched an investigation into privately-owned steelmaker Sidenor, accused of selling steel to an Israeli company for weapon manufacturing, potentially breaching Spain's ban on such activities.
Judge Francisco de Jorge is spearheading the case against Sidenor CEO Jose Antonio Jainaga Gomez and two executives. They are suspected of smuggling and complicity in crimes against humanity or genocide.
The probe originated from a complaint by the Catalonia Palestinian community group, amid Spain's ongoing criticism of Israel's actions in Gaza.
