A Ukrainian citizen alleged to be part of a Russian intelligence-led sabotage campaign was detained in Poland, according to the country's top prosecutor on Tuesday.

Prosecutors claim Russian agents planned to send shipments with explosives to Ukraine, intending them to detonate during transportation, aiming to intimidate and destabilize EU supporters of Ukraine. Two more Ukrainians were arrested in Romania in connection to the same plot.

Recently, Polish authorities detained eight individuals on suspicion of preparing acts of sabotage. This comes amid heightened scrutiny over Russian-linked incidents across Europe, including arson and espionage activities that have raised alarms among Western officials.
