OSCW Chairperson Takes Initiative in Durgapur Gang Rape Case

In a decisive move, Odisha State Commission for Women Chairperson Sovana Mohanty has traveled to Durgapur, West Bengal, to meet the medical student who fell victim to an alleged gang rape.
Before departing from Bhubaneswar, Mohanty stated her intention to personally ensure the survivor receives proper treatment and that authorities are conducting a thorough investigation.
Accompanied by Senior Field Officer Bijayini Singh, Mohanty's visit aims to expedite the case proceedings. The commission will report its findings to the Odisha government upon their return.
