The foundation stone for the Shree Janata Secondary School, located in Gauradaha Municipality-1, Jhapa district, was laid on Thursday, marking a significant step in Indo-Nepalese collaboration.

This educational infrastructure project, financed by the Indian government to the tune of approximately Nepali Rupees 58 million, is part of a broader initiative to strengthen community development in Nepal. The foundation-laying ceremony was attended by Hikmat Kumar Karki, Chief Minister of Koshi Province, alongside Indian diplomat Gitanjali Brandon, and Gauradaha's Mayor Chhatrapati Subedi.

In April, a similar initiative saw the commencement of another school and library project backed by India, highlighting the strong bilateral relationship between the two countries. This partnership is also underlined by the recently signed agreements between India and Nepal for seven further development projects across vital sectors such as education, health, and agriculture, totaling NRs. 473 million, underscoring India's commitment to supporting Nepal's growth and development.
