Former US F-15E combat pilot Ryan Bodenheimer has issued a caution against underestimating Iran's military capabilities in the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz. Highlighting the danger posed by Iran's unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) to oil tankers, Bodenheimer emphasized the complexity of neutralizing this threat, despite advancements in US defense technology.

In a discussion with ANI, Bodenheimer acknowledged ongoing efforts by US defense companies to counteract Iran's UUVs. He pointed out that in addition to Shahed drones and anti-ship missiles, Iran deploys sophisticated underwater vehicles. Bodenheimer stressed that allowing more time to prepare could mitigate the risk to US military personnel, reflecting on the escalating stakes in the region.

President Donald Trump has claimed that opening the strategic strait is plausible with more time, while Iranian leaders hint at further blockades on other critical routes like the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. As tensions simmer in these geopolitical waters, strategies for securing passage remain a pressing concern for global trade and security.
