Iran has issued a dire warning to its adversaries, signaling that any attempted ground offensive against the nation will be met with lethal and decisive force. This declaration was made by Iran's Army Chief Major General Amir Hatami amidst escalating regional tensions, as reported by Fars News Agency, a semi-official state media outlet.
In a clear message aimed at the United States and Israeli forces, Hatami insisted that Iran's armed forces are fully prepared for both offensive and defensive strategies. "If the enemy undertakes a ground operation, not a single one should escape with their life," he declared, emphasizing the importance of constant surveillance of enemy movements and timely execution of counterstrategies.
On the other side, the White House has defended the deployment of additional U.S. troops in West Asia, which enhances President Donald Trump's options in the conflict. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt remarked that these deployments provide 'maximum optionality' and maintained that while ground operations have not been ruled out, they remain in the realm of strategic planning. Meanwhile, the U.S. Navy has positioned the USS Tripoli with its contingent of Marines in the region, heightening military readiness as diplomatic solutions are pursued in tandem.
