In a significant development amid ongoing unrest, Iran executed Amirhossein Hatami on Thursday. He was convicted of joining an assault on a classified military facility during recent protests.
Despite appealing the sentence, the Supreme Court upheld the ruling, leading to his execution, Mizan, the judiciary's news outlet, reported.
The judiciary detailed that Hatami was guilty of intruding into a secured area, causing damage, attempting arson, and trying to seize weapons. These are charges he conceded during questioning.
