According to reports from The Jerusalem Post, the Israeli Defence Forces have made an alleged attempt to assassinate Ismail Khataib, the Iranian intelligence chief. Sources reinforce claims that an operation was conducted, yet Khataib's current status remains undisclosed.

The attempted assassination escalated tensions following the death of prominent Iranian leaders. Ali Larijani, Iran's former Supreme National Security Council Secretary, was killed on Monday night, marking a pivotal loss for Tehran's political landscape. Additionally, Brigadier General Gholamreza Soleimani, leader of the Basij forces, was confirmed dead in actions blamed on an 'American-Zionist' strike.

Despite these severe setbacks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confidently declared that Iran's political system stands robust against external pressures. Highlighting past losses, Araghchi emphasized the continuity of Iran's political infrastructure, asserting the conflict was sparked by the US, not Tehran, warning of the broader repercussions of regional instability.
