In a grave announcement at a UN Security Council session, Tehran's envoy painted a bleak picture of the ongoing military operations by the US and Israel against Iran. Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani warned of increasingly fraught conditions for civilians as humanitarian distress deepens, as reported by Press TV.
He labeled the actions as a 'war of aggression' starting on February 28, 2026, noting widespread civilian impact, including densely populated urban centers. The military campaign has transgressed beyond military targets, impacting critical urban areas, heightening civilian vulnerability, noted Iravani.
Recently, assaults have progressed towards non-military sites such as sports and educational facilities. A catastrophic missile hit killed female volleyball players in Fars Province, while educational institutions face devastation. Tehran retaliates with regional strikes as its envoy urges the UN for swift diplomatic measures to end the conflict.
