Rastriya Swatantra Party Set for Landslide Victory in Nepali Elections

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), closely linked to former Kathmandu mayor and rapper Balendra Shah, is on a path to a remarkable electoral triumph. As the votes from Nepal's parliamentary elections are tallied, the RSP is leading significantly, having already clinched 19 seats with a lead in 98 others.

The ongoing count under the First-Past-the-Post (FPTP) category shows that RSP is far ahead, winning 19 out of 27 concluded constituencies. Although counting has been delayed in three areas, the party's dominance is clear. Shah's party remains resilient in the race, while major parties like the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML trail behind.

Notably, in the hotly contested Jhapa-5 constituency, Balendra Shah has surged ahead of his rival KP Sharma Oli. As the Election Commission finalizes results, anticipation grows over whether the RSP will achieve its aspirational two-thirds majority, possibly reshaping Nepal's political landscape.
