China has offered to assist the United States following the crash of two US Navy aircraft in the South China Sea on Sunday, highlighting ongoing geopolitical tensions in the region. The Global Times reported that a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Guo Jiakun, expressed Beijing's readiness to provide humanitarian aid if requested by Washington.

Guo criticized the increased presence of US warships and aircraft in the area, calling it a demonstration of force that, in his view, destabilizes regional peace and security. These accidents occurred during routine naval operations, according to a statement from the US Navy's Pacific Fleet.

The incidents involved an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter and an F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter, with all involved personnel escaping unharmed. Amid investigations into the crashes, US President Joe Biden is on an Asia tour, with discussions on trade with Chinese President Xi Jinping expected to take place soon.
