The Rajasthan Food Safety and Drug Control Department has taken decisive action to protect public health by banning the distribution and sale of seven substandard medicines. The move follows tests conducted earlier this month that revealed these drugs did not meet prescribed quality standards.

According to Commissioner Dr. T Shubhamangala, the department is committed to ensuring that only quality medications are distributed to the public. In April, continuous testing led to the identification of seven medicines that failed to pass quality checks, prompting swift action to withdraw these drugs from the market.

Drug Controller Ajay Phatak has ordered drug control officers to remove existing stock of these medicines immediately, under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. Hospitals, medical colleges, and drug sellers have also been instructed to cease the use and sale of the flagged drugs. Further scrutiny of other product batches from the implicated companies has been initiated.
