A tragic incident unfolded in Rajasthan's Jalore district as a fault rectification worker from the power department lost his life while on duty. The mishap occurred when Akharam Meghwal came into contact with an 11 kV power line in Balwara village, located within the jurisdiction of the Bishangarh police station. Meghwal was engaged in repairing a fault on the power line.

Despite the work being carried out post a planned shutdown, an inadvertent restoration of power, allegedly due to miscommunication, led to the fatal accident. Meghwal was electrocuted on the spot, with his body remaining ensnared on the pole for several hours, authorities confirmed.

The sorrowful incident further escalated as the victim's father, Rooparam, was urgently making his way to the scene to learn more about his son's demise. Tragically, he met with a road accident, resulting in multiple fractures and a head injury. Two other individuals traveling with him were also injured and are currently receiving medical care at a hospital.
