NHM Employees Demand Reforms Amid 48-Hour Protest in Jammu and Kashmir

In Jammu and Kashmir, employees under the National Health Mission (NHM) initiated a 48-hour sit-in protest on Wednesday, advocating for better employment conditions. Their main demands include the regularisation of services, pay revisions, and social security benefits.

The protest is organized by the Jammu and Kashmir National Health Mission Employees Association. Some members gathered at the Press Enclave to voice their grievances, highlighting the lack of progress despite numerous assurances from the government.

Abdul Rouf, the chief spokesman, stressed the importance of addressing NHM employee concerns. Their demands also focus on salary revisions comparable to Himachal Pradesh, as NHM workers face low wages, especially in remote areas. The association is calling for immediate pay equity and a new job policy.
