Patel Engineering Secures Major Hydroelectric Project in Nepal
Patel Engineering has won a Rs 1,593.08 crore contract for the Lower Arun Hydroelectric Project in Nepal. As the Lowest Bidder, they aim to complete the 669 MW project in 54 months, supporting Nepal's energy independence. Patel Engineering has successfully secured a contract for the Lower Arun Hydroelectric Project in Nepal, valued at Rs 1,593.08 crore. The company was declared the Lowest Bidder by SJVN Lower Arun Power Development Company, a subsidiary of SJVN. The project, boasting a capacity of 669 MW, is slated for completion within 54 months.
Kavita Shirvairkar, Managing Director of Patel Engineering, highlighted the importance of this achievement: "The Lower Arun project is a significant step toward harnessing Nepal's hydroelectric potential for sustainable growth." The project is seen not just as infrastructure building but as a contribution to Nepal's energy independence.
Patel Engineering is also engaged in other hydroelectric projects, including the Arun-3 Hydropower project in Nepal and a Rs 230 crore project with Dorjlung Hydro Power Ltd in Bhutan. Based in Mumbai, the company continues to make its mark in the hydropower, tunneling, and irrigation sectors, aiming for timely execution and world-class engineering.
