Karnataka's minor irrigation tanks are showing remarkable water storage capabilities, as affirmed by Minister N S Boseraju. According to recent data, 165 out of 3,788 tanks are full even during summer, and the majority maintain significant water levels.

Effective government strategies and favorable monsoon rains are credited with this achievement. Districts like Davanagere and Chikkamagaluru lead in storage capacity, reflecting successful water management and rejuvenation initiatives, said the minister.

Tank projects ensure a steady water supply to Bayaluseeme districts, preventing drought impacts. The preserved water supports 445,009 hectares of agriculture, ensuring robust benefits for farmers.
