India is confronting a stark dual-weather pattern, with certain areas lashed by heavy rain and others enduring scorching heat. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports Assam was hit by very heavy rainfall, while Nagaland experienced substantial showers. Additionally, thunderstorms with squally winds were noted in Maharashtra, Odisha, and other regions.
The IMD indicated that hailstorms have been isolated to Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Telangana. Concurrently, a new heatwave has intensified across Haryana, Delhi, and neighboring states, with temperatures soaring to 45°C in cities like Wardha.
A range of meteorological systems is influencing the nation’s weather, including a persistent Western Disturbance over Jammu & Kashmir. Scattered rain is expected in Northwest India, while heavy rainfall will persist in the Northeast. Authorities caution residents against heat exposure and advocate for crop protection from the extreme weather's potential impacts.
