Haryana is stepping up its efforts to recover overdue electricity charges under the guidance of Energy Minister Anil Vij. Notices will be dispatched within 15 days to consumers with permanently disconnected electricity connections, targeting a cumulative Rs 8,200 crore in outstanding dues statewide.

Special campaigns will drive these recovery efforts, and coordination with relevant government departments aims to expedite the process. In line with this, strict measures against electricity theft are being enforced, providing one last chance for perpetrators to clear dues. Additionally, officials are under instructions to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during peak demand periods, particularly the summer.

Efforts to replace faulty transformers swiftly and maintain high standards in power supply are underway, alongside a focus on achieving solar power targets through the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, aspiring to bring solar electricity to 2.2 lakh homes by March 2027.
