Akshayakalpa Organic, headquartered in Bengaluru, has made a significant move by expanding into the Maharashtra market, specifically targeting Mumbai and Pune. This expansion involves a substantial investment of Rs 200 crore over a four-year period.
The company's current operations span Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana, offering organic dairy and poultry products. With the Maharashtra entry, Akshayakalpa will introduce dairy products such as milk, ghee, paneer, and cheese. CEO Shashi Kumar emphasized plans to invest Rs 50 crore in logistics and distribution over the first year.
While milk procurement in Maharashtra will commence in 2029-30, the company will rely on milk supplies from Hyderabad and Karnataka initially. A manufacturing unit near Pune and additional investment of Rs 150 crore for production and farmer programs are on the horizon. Akshayakalpa's growth plans focus on reinforcing its presence in existing and new markets over the next 5-7 years.
