On Thursday, DJT Microfinance unveiled plans to venture into Northeast India, with a focus on Assam's agro-climatic zone. The expansion will target several districts, underlining the company's commitment to extend financial services to underserved areas.
Over the next three years, DJT aims to empower 20,000 new members, prioritizing disciplined customer acquisition and asset quality management. The expansion leverages the Joint Liability Group lending model, facilitating access to credit for low-income households and micro-entrepreneurs.
According to COO Avinash Kumar, the move aligns with regulatory guidelines, ensuring offerings tailored to local economic needs. The initiative boosts DJT's mission to provide responsible financial services while empowering women in rural regions.
