Goa Cracks Down on LPG Black Market Amid Global Tensions
The Goa government initiated 363 raids to combat the black marketing of LPG cylinders, seizing 44 cylinders in 1.5 months. Prompted by consumer complaints, the state formed a flying squad to conduct raids. Three FIRs were filed related to illegal LPG usage and storage in different regions.

The Goa government has intensified its crackdown on the black marketing of LPG cylinders, undertaking 363 raids across the state in the past month and a half, officials confirmed on Thursday.
Sanjiv Gadkar, Secretary of the Civil Supplies Department, stated that these raids resulted in the seizure of 44 domestic and commercial LPG cylinders. The actions come amid the ongoing West Asia conflict which has disrupted energy supplies from Gulf countries.
A special flying squad has been formed to address consumer complaints and conduct independent searches. Additionally, three FIRs were registered for the misuse and improper storage of LPG cylinders in various regions, including Mormugao and Tiswadi talukas.
