Breaking Barriers: Telangana's Skill Uplift for Transgender Empowerment

The Telangana government has rolled out an ambitious skill development program targeting the transgender community. State Minister Adluri Lakshman Kumar inaugurated the initiative, underscoring its commitment to addressing the socio-economic challenges transgender individuals face.

Training sessions include opportunities in drone piloting, car driving, and hotel management, equipping participants with skills necessary for employment in agriculture, surveying, hospitality, and other sectors. This effort intends to provide economic independence and social respect.

As part of these initiatives, 91 transgender persons will undergo extensive training with financial backing from the government. This project aligns with the state’s broader commitment towards improving the lives of marginalized communities by creating purposeful employment avenues.
