The Punjab government has announced a new financial assistance scheme for women, titled the 'Mukhya Mantri Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana.' Under this initiative, eligible women will receive monthly financial support ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500.
The Cabinet's recent approval confirms that the scheme is designed to boost financial security among women in the state. It is open to all eligible women without restrictions on the number of beneficiaries per family and aims to enhance women’s financial independence and household welfare across Punjab.
However, specific exclusions apply, and the funds will be distributed through Direct Benefit Transfer into Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. The Department of Social Security and Women and Child Development will oversee the scheme's implementation.
