A person has been taken into custody following an alleged attack on Congress MP Shashi Tharoor's gunman and driver by a group of five in Wandoor, officials reported Saturday.
The incident occurred during a traffic disruption at Chellithode bridge while Tharoor was on the way to an election event. According to the FIR, the attackers blocked Tharoor's vehicle, prompting the gunman to attempt to clear the path, resulting in the alleged assault.
Tharoor assured he remained untouched and expressed gratitude for public concern. He continued his campaign activities undeterred. Police are actively pursuing the remaining suspects.
