A heart-wrenching tragedy unfolded in Maharashtra's Solapur district as a 34-year-old security guard allegedly poisoned his three children before committing suicide, police confirmed on Thursday.
The incident, which took place on Wednesday in Tirhe village, has left the community and the authorities grappling for answers. The man, identified as Bhima Anna Waghmare, reportedly took his children to a farm near Valsang where he poisoned them before consuming poison himself, said a police official.
The children were rushed to a government hospital's intensive care unit in Solapur, critically ill. Preliminary reports suggest the desperate act followed a severe domestic dispute with his wife, who had left him. An investigation into the circumstances of this tragic event is ongoing.
