Tragic End: Young Couple's Leap into Eternity

A heartbreaking incident unfolded near Bhagirath railway station in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj, where a young couple allegedly died by suicide on Wednesday. The couple jumped before the Nautanwa-Gorakhpur Intercity Express, reportedly due to familial opposition to their marriage.

Nautanwa SHO Purushottam Rao confirmed that eyewitnesses saw the couple, in their early 20s, joining hands as they stepped onto the tracks. Their tragic decision was seemingly influenced by their families' refusal to accept their union.

Authorities have informed the bereaved families, conducted a post-mortem, and handed over the bodies to relatives. Meanwhile, a police investigation is actively underway to further understand the circumstances leading to this tragic event.
