Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Wednesday that combine harvesters used for agricultural purposes will be exempted from paying tolls at plazas operated by the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation. The declaration was made following a Board of Directors meeting at the Samatva Bhavan (CM House).
The Chief Minister emphasized his government's commitment to the welfare of farmers, marking the 'Farmer Welfare Year 2026.' Yadav stressed that the toll exemption would mitigate transportation costs, thus lowering the prices of agricultural products. This move aligns with the vision of 'Samriddh Kisan-Samriddh Pradesh.'
During the same meeting, approvals were granted for the construction of the Indore-Ujjain and Ujjain-Jaora Greenfield Roads as non-access-controlled projects. Additionally, a revised alignment of the West Bhopal Bypass was approved. Discussions included annual accounts and other managerial matters, as the state proceeds with coordinated efforts to bolster agricultural prosperity.
