Union Parliamentary Minister Kiren Rijiju has firmly denied allegations that political pressure prevented the government from passing the Foreign Contribution (Amendment) Regulation Bill, 2026, in the Lok Sabha. Rijiju explained that legislative priorities are determined based on circumstances, not political influences.

Addressing the urgency of legislative matters, Rijiju pointed out that the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, aimed at designating Amaravati as the state's sole capital, was expedited in the Lok Sabha. He emphasized that this prioritization was due to its urgent nature, not political maneuvering, urging people to base their perceptions on reality rather than opposition claims.

Rijiju also addressed the controversy surrounding the FCRA Bill, expressing his frustration at the misinformation allegedly spread by Congress and CPI (M). He explained that the bill, intended to ensure responsible use of foreign contributions, is not against any religion or organization, dismissing claims of a political agenda ahead of elections. Rijiju reiterated the government's commitment to legislative transparency and the national interest.
