India's Renewable Energy Revolution: Non-Fossil Fuels to Dominate by 2035

India is on an ambitious path to transform its energy landscape, with a target of 70% non-fossil fuel-based power capacity by 2035-36. This goal is outlined in the newly released National Generation Adequacy Plan.

Currently, non-fossil fuel sources contribute 52.5% of India's installed power capacity, but this is projected to rise significantly. The transformation includes large-scale investments in solar, wind, and other renewable sources, alongside robust energy storage solutions.

As part of this strategic shift, India plans to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels to 30% by 2035-36, aligning with global efforts towards sustainability and net-zero emissions targets.
