The Patiala House Court on Friday extended interim anticipatory bail to Vikas Chikara, the General Secretary of the Indian Youth Congress, in connection with the ongoing AI Summit protest case. Chikara, identified by Delhi Police as an alleged conspirator, was also issued a non-bailable warrant. The court instructed him to appear for investigation at the crime branch office.

Further discussions on the case are slated for March 28. Representing the Delhi Police, ASG DP Singh, alongside Advocate Prashant Prakash, articulated no objections to Chikara's plea, provided he cooperates with the investigation. The involvement of high-profile legal teams has spotlighted the legal proceedings.

Senior advocate Tanvir Ahmed Mir, along with a team of advocates, reaffirmed Chikara's commitment to participate in the probe. As Chikara sought anticipatory bail for his alleged role in the February 20 IYC protest at the AI Summit, the court moved to ensure transparency and legal compliance.
