In a significant crackdown, officials seized 45 LPG domestic cylinders found misused across various eateries, restaurants, and hotels. The special drive, conducted by the District Food and Civil Supplies department, aims to curb the misuse of domestic LPG cylinders for commercial purposes.
The operation also included inspections of gas agencies to ensure transparency and adherence to regulations. Officials verified stock positions, supply systems, and booking records at these agencies to ensure compliance.
Deputy Commissioner Varjeet Walia stressed the importance of this initiative, emphasizing that such drives will be conducted regularly to ensure LPG reaches genuine beneficiaries. Dr. Ravinder Kaur, District Food and Civil Supplies Controller, reinforced the commitment to monitor commercial establishments and encouraged public cooperation in reporting any misuse.
