Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President Naveen Patnaik has issued a strong directive to all party lawmakers, requiring their presence at crucial meetings in Bhubaneswar ahead of the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections. These meetings, to be held at Naveen Nivas, include a presentation and training session scheduled for March 13 and 14, alongside a legislative party meeting on March 15.
Meanwhile, in an unexpected twist, six Odisha Congress MLAs, including Chief Whip CS Raazen Ekka, have reportedly relocated to a private resort in the South Bengaluru district. Their move comes amid speculation about potential cross-voting in the approaching elections, with the oversight of Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.
Ahead of the elections, Congress, BJD, and CPI(M) have reached a consensus to back Datteshwar Hota, a candidate celebrated for his non-partisan approach. As Odisha's political landscape heats up, Santrupt Misra from BJD, and Manmohan Samal and Sujeet Kumar from BJP, have been nominated for the pivotal Rajya Sabha polls, scheduled for March 16.
