Empowering Women: Maharashtra's Pioneering Policies Unveiled

These efforts aim to ease daily inconveniences, support holistic development, and ensure security for women throughout the state.

Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Sunetra Pawar, has unveiled a series of pioneering initiatives aimed at empowering women across the state. On Tuesday, she announced the 'Come Early, Go Early' initiative, offering flexible work hours for women employed under the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
The initiative allows women to report between 9.15 am and 9.45 am and leave earlier, ensuring they fulfill their required work hours. Pawar emphasized the relief this brings by alleviating the stress of rush hour inconveniences. During a legislative council discussion marking International Women's Day, she encouraged steps toward building a safe, respectful environment for women.
Pawar also highlighted measures like 'Operation Muskan' and 'Operation Shodh' that have helped trace thousands of missing children and women. Additionally, she cited economic empowerment schemes such as Umed Mall and Mahalakshmi Saras, advancements in maternity leave policies, support for anganwadi workers, and increased security through technology.
