Hungary's Urgent Plea to Halt EU Sanctions Amid Energy Crisis

Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban has made an urgent appeal to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to suspend all sanctions on Russian energy imports. Orban stated in a letter that such a move is essential to curb the rising crude oil prices affecting Hungary.

In a video message posted on his Facebook page, Orban also announced plans to hold a government meeting later that day. The purpose of this meeting was to devise strategies to prevent gasoline and diesel prices from reaching what he described as 'unbearable levels' for Hungarian consumers.

The call for suspension of sanctions comes as the nation grapples with increasing energy costs, putting financial strain on both consumers and the national economy.
