Qatar Airways has announced the operation of limited repatriation flights scheduled for March 7, departing from Hamad International Airport to select European destinations. This temporary authorization, granted by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, comes in response to ongoing airspace closures due to the regional crisis affecting aviation operations.
Relief flights will head to London, Paris, Madrid, Rome, and Frankfurt, prioritizing stranded passengers with families, elderly individuals, and those with urgent medical or compassionate needs. Qatar Airways emphasized these flights do not signify a return to regularly scheduled services, as they await further instructions from aviation authorities.
Passengers are urged not to travel to the airport without prior confirmation from the airline. Notifications have been sent to affected individuals, detailing flight arrangements and further instructions. While working tirelessly to arrange additional relief flights, Qatar Airways reassured passengers of their commitment to safety and will provide updates on March 8.
In a bid to ease travel disruptions, the airline offers complimentary date changes or refunds for confirmed bookings between February 28 and March 15, 2026. The ongoing West Asia crisis, leading to widespread airspace closures, continues to challenge airline operations in the region, forcing airlines to adapt swiftly to the evolving situation.
