Russian authorities launched a probe on Sunday into an incident involving an oil tanker named Tony at the Ust-Luga seaport. The seaport is a crucial point for Russia's crude oil exports via the Baltic Sea.
The Northwestern Transport Prosecutor reported that the collision happened on Saturday as the Tony was set to load petroleum products. It crashed into a berth wall at the port located in the northwestern Leningrad region.
'The collision resulted in damage to the berth wall and a port crane. No injuries or oil spills have been reported,' stated the prosecutor in an announcement on Telegram.
